Well this creature first appeared on Gaia as a pet. The store went under due to my negligence. I was in grade twelve at the time and didn't quite understand how much effort went into running an aging pet store. It was pretty popular while it was up and running. I only had three staff members and I think four colorists while I was there.

Anyway, this is one of my first creature designs that I ever liked enough to permanently keep in rotation. The Caelith can have any hair style and come in any color you like. The males usually have horns but this one doesn't. The little betta looking creature is actually a big part of the story. Originally it starts in a wing looking pod that is bound to the Caelith by fishing line...if you raised your Caelith lovingly the pod would hatch into that little celestial being. No one ever got that far in the story. My fault though.

Originally the Caelith had cloven back feet but I changed it up a bit to make it more unique since everyone seems to have it that way.

If you'd like a Caelith for your own to play with just let me know. I have no issues if you want to make one as long as I get credit back. If you really like these guys I can also make a creature page for more referencing.
