Azreil is a young Zorua cub who belongs to a lineage of caretakers whom guard a temple deep in the forests of the Johto region. No one is sure what it is they guard, just that whomever remains within the temple is granted immortality and those that leave its presence can never age again.

When Azreil was born, his adventurous spirit was nurtured by his older brother Eli, who dreamed of one day leaving the Temple in search of finding a more suitable mate. Both of them felt like the stuffy and boring life of monks was not for them, so when it happened that on the eve of Azreil's 13 birthday that a pilgrim arrived at the temple in search of the gift of immortality and was turned away by the monks, Azreil and Eli snuck out and followed him out of the forest. Needless to say, they were both elated and terrified by the new modern world that awaited them.

Since leaving the temple, both Azreil and his brother Eli have survived by doing odd jobs for strangers and skipping town whenever they hear of someone in search of the fabled temple. There have been a few close calls over the years from bounty hunters who would torture them if they could for the location of temple but through sheer cunning they have managed to avoid most of them.

Personality
Azreil is typically warm and talkative and has a contagious enthusiasm for life. Although he is characteristically fun-loving, Azreil is also practical and down-to-earth. Unlike his brother, who can be hot headed and an idealist, Azreil is grounded in reality and is usually keenly aware of the facts and details of his environment, especially if they pertain to people.

Abilities
Like most Zorua, Azreil can shape shift and use some dark type moves. However his greatest strength is his uncanny ability to remain in different forms for extended periods of time. It does come at the cost of requiring great effort to shapeshift more than once a day, so he'll usually either remain in his human form or Zorua form.
