Spend today trying out very different drawing techniques and (with some help of a tutorial) eventually came up with a really cool drawing style for my backgrounds.
It is a style that still takes lot's of practice and there's still a lot of time involved drawing a "simple rock" but it looks REALLY cool!

Next practice session I'm hoping to give my overall character shading a boost, without increasing the drawing time too much.
I have some thoughts on how to do this, but I'll have to experiment.
