Re-uploaded due to FA going down.
This part is mostly exposition/character introduction so I'm sorry if it isn't as interesting as my past stories.
Kiba Whitewolf wins a radio contest for a weekend getaway for him and his friends to Wolfland Lodge on top of Mt. Wolf. After arriving they are met with a crazy gypsy woman who warns them of the blood wolf moon, but not heeding the warning the group stays and is stuck not long after due to a freak snowstorm. Then things go from bad to worse as the wolves (and wolf hybrids) start turning into feral werewolves. Can the others survive a weekend with their feral werewolf friends or will they be turned into werewolves themselves?

Blood Wolf Moon
It was a cold and frigid afternoon in January. Vek the skunk was sitting at a circular table with his close friends Kiba Whitewolf and Ravix Casset. His boyfriend Leon the green Lynger (Lynx/Tiger) and his roommate Vin the Timber wolf were standing along with Vin's boyfriend Lomein the Green Red Panda. The six were huddled around the radio with their phones at the ready. The radio exited commercial; the DJ came back on.
“This is DJ Silver and the Wolf on Cool 87.9” The DJ announced, signing back on. “I'm sure everyone is listening for their chance to win the tickets to the amazing Wolfland Lodge for a skiing and snowboarding weekend getaway. Remember our one hundredth caller wins seven, yes seven, tickets to the lodge. Our one hundred and first caller will win three tickets to the Lodge for the same amazing getaway. Callers, the sign to win is the Wolf's howl; which should be coming up after Adele-Hello.”
The Adele song began playing and all six friends had their phones ready in their paws. Vek reminded the wolves of the radio station's number and their paws were on the call button. The song ended and the wolf came on to speak.
“This is the Wolf on Cool 87.9. That was Adele's Hello. That song just makes me want to howl. Awoooooo!” The wolf howled.
As if by some primal preconditioning, Vin, Kiba, and Ravix joined in on the howl. DJ Silver came on and told the audience to call in now repeating the station's number three times to ensure the audience heard it. Lomein got through first.
“Caller 42” Lomein said.
“51” Leon responded.
“59” Vek added.
The three wolves finished howling to press their call buttons.
“85” Ravix declared.
“93” Vin replied baring his fangs a little in his loss.
Kiba hit the call button and he heard a familiar voice on the line.
“This is DJ Silver and the Wolf, and you are caller 100! What's your name?”
“Kiba Whitewolf. And I'm actually caller 100?” Kiba gasped in complete shock.
“Yes, my fellow wolf. You are caller 100. You've won a weekend getaway to Wolfland Lodge for seven.” The Wolf replied.
Kiba was in complete shock. Ravix half jumped, half pounced on her mate in a big hug.
“Lucky butt.” Ravix said embracing her mate.
“So who are you bringing with you Kiba?” DJ Silver asked.
“All of my friends; Ravix, Vek, Leon, Lomein, and Vin.” Kiba responded.
“That's only six. What about the last ticket?” The Wolf inserted.
“Oh yeah- my cousin, Kyandi! I'm sure she would love to go!” Kiba happily replied.
“And here's caller 101.” DJ Silver interjected.
“Caller 101, you're on the air with DJ Silver and the Wolf. What's your name?”
“Oh my god, I won!” the winner screamed. “I'm sorry, it's Kitti. Kitti Catigori.”
“Well Kitti, you've just won three tickets to Wolfland Lodge. Who's coming with you?” The Wolf asked.
“Ummm... My good friends Rin and Marshall.” Kitti responded after some thought.

Over the next two weeks, Kiba and his friends grew super excited awaiting their weekend getaway. Kyandi, was surprised to find our she was volunteered to go by her lupine cousin. Leon and Vek made sure to pack plenty of clothes ahead of time, while Vin goofed around and had to pack everything last minute. Vek spent three hours with the lazy wolf trying to find his snow boots that were buried under Vin's collection of blue neckerchiefs.
Meanwhile, Kitti was anxious beyond belief. She invited Rin and Marshall over right away to make sure her outfits were appropriate and stylish. Marshall could not care less, and told Kitti multiple times that, “Well it's not hideous.”
Rin, on the other hand, was very supportive and helped Kitti pick out multiple outfits for the weekend excursion. In return, Kitti prevented the Dhole from packing just t-shirts and shorts reminding him that is was the middle of January and there would be snow. Rin abruptly unpacked and repacked winter attire. He switched out a light green jersey with the number 6 on for a hoodie with the same designs.
As the weekend approached, Vek made sure everyone had packed the necessary attire. Everyone had their winter clothes, boots, gloves, etc and were ready. Kyandi changed out her high heeled boots for snow boots after Ravix and Vek warned her about the snow, and Vin bought a light blue scarf to match his neckerchiefs to keep him warm.
**************************
The weekend for the Wolfland Lodge Trip had arrived. The radio station had chartered a coach bus to take the ten winners up Mount Wolf to the lodge. Vek (Skunk), Leon (Green Lynger), Kiba (Arctic Wolf), Ravix (Grey Wolf), Vin (Timber Wolf), Lomein (Green Red Panda), and Kyandi (Silver Fennec Fox) all boarded the bus showing their tickets to the dragon bus driver. Kitti, Rin, and Marshall were right behind them.
Most of them opted to sleep on the bus ride. There was some small idle chit chat, but most of the drive was quiet as the riders admired the snowy mountain. Kitti, the tabby cat, introduced herself- “Hi, I'm Kitti. I'm the other winner, this is my friends Rin the Dhole and Marshall the Badger.”
Rin seemed very tired. He waved hello and then went back to sleep wearing his green, number 6 sweatshirt. Marshall was wide awake, but gave off a vibe of wanting to be left alone as he listened to music with his headphones. Kitti engaged the group more, bantering and keeping up the chit chat. Multiple times she threw a pillow at Rin who was snoring really loud. Rin proceeded to cuddle with the pillow, shift a little bit, and resume sleeping with quieter snoring. Marshall, sat in his seat listening to music and reading his book. Whenever someone tried talk to Rin he would mumble and go back to sleep, talking to Marshall was impossible for everyone as he just blatantly ignored them.
Kitti's story about working for a stubborn horse kept the group entertained for most of the 90-minute bus ride. The horse had a serious problem with womanizing and alcoholism, but had reformed over time. “He was so self-centered that he blew off my birthday party to go skydiving.” Kitti spouted off a list of things the horse had done. “And then there was that time he fought a Golden Lab over a girl. Their rivalry lasted for months. He's never shut up about her beauty. I slapped him while he was ranting on-and-on about her and he just kept talking. In the end she chose the Lab.”
The bus finally came to a halt as the dragon bus driver told everyone they had reached their destination. The ground was covered in snow, but luckily everyone had boots.
“It's freezing” Marshall complained.
“Stop being a sourpuss and suck it up.” Kitti retorted putting the badger in his place.
The ten slowly walked towards the lodge entrance carrying their bags. Kiba led the group as he opened the door. The group piled in slowly with Kiba, Ravix, and Kitti walking towards the front desk as the others began to pile in. There was plenty of room for them all to stand, but the entrance way was narrow making it difficult for more than one person to get through with their bags at a time. An old cougar wearing some weird clothes approached the group as Lomein and Vin were entering behind the initial three.
“Beware young folk, for this is the period of the blood wolf moon. Leave this place before it's too late.” the older cougar in gypsy garb told the group of tourists as they finished entering the warm lodge from the snowy exterior.
“Madame Luna stop harassing my customers.” A burly brown bear wearing lumberjack attire yelled.
“Is everything okay? We can come back another weekend. I'm sure the radio station can transfer the tickets.” Vek inquired.
“No, no. Everything is fine. Welcome to Wolfland Lodge. I'm Logus one of the proprietors of this lodge. You must be the contest winners.” The bear happily added.
“Honey? Is this the contest winners?” A female red wolf questioned. She seemed to be the bear's wife.
“This is Trina my wife. Yes, these are the winners.” Logus answered.
“Oh great. Let me check you all in. There are three rooms. One with two doubles, and two with a double and a single. Logus can you show them to rooms 104, 105, and 106?” Trina said with a smile.
Logus led the group to the rooms. It had already been decided that Vek, Vin, Leon, and Lomein would get the four person room, Kitti and her friends would room together, and Kiba would room with Ravix and Kyandi. Logus started telling the group some things about the lodge.
“Breakfast is from 8:00-10:30 and the ski lift is open from 9 am to 10 pm. We recommend you always ski or snowboard with a buddy. Also due to some recent thefts we recommend everyone deadbolt their doors when they go to bed. If you need anything feel free to call Trina in the main lobby.” Logus said.
“What about that Madame Luna? Who's she?” Vek asked.
“She's a crazy old coot. She runs a fortune telling stand about half a mile from the lodge. She normally leaves us alone, but every January she comes to scare our customers away claiming bad things will happen during the wolf moon.” Logus replied.
“Has anything bad happened?” Ravix questioned her ears perking up.
“Not really, just a few hooligans shredding some of the bedding or carpeting and occasionally claw marks on the doors. This year though Madame Luna won't leave us alone. She claims this Blood Wolf Moon is bad news and that everyone should leave.” Logus added.
“Blood Wolf Moon, more like Blood wolf boring.” Marshall quipped.
“ It's not that crazy. The blood moon occurs during a lunar eclipse and the full moon in January is called the wolf moon. Madame Luna says this sort of thing hasn't happened for over 500 years.” Logus responded.
“But if she's some crazy old lady what can actually be truthful to what she says?” Rin asked.
“Well I don't really know, but there is a blood moon and a wolf moon coinciding this weekend. Trina did some research. Don't worry about it, just deadbolt those doors. And here we are rooms 104, 105, and 106.” Logus finished.
The groups piled into their rooms and unpacked. Marshall wanted to stay behind and catch up on some reading and Kitti and Rin went to check the program guide in the lobby. Vek and Leon opted to stay inside for some alone time. Lomein wanted to check some stuff on his computer so that left Kyandi, Kiba, Vin, and Ravix to go up the mountain themselves.
“Are you happy to be here big ears?” Kiba questioned the fennec.
“Why did I have to come along Kiba?” Kyandi retorted.
“Because, big ears, it will be fun.” Kiba countered sticking out his tongue.
Ravix punched Kiba in the arm. “Be nice to your cousin, butt.” Ravix interjected.
“Okay so we need to get the gear from Logus. Who's ready for some snowboarding?” Vin asked.
The wolves and fennec walked towards the ski lift and were stopped by Madame Luna.
“Foul wolves heed my warning. Leave this place before you harm your friends and loved ones. I warn you, leave now or regret it!” Madame Luna chanted as she jumped in front of the group.
“Don't tell us what to do you old hag.” Vin replied.
“And don't judge my family and friends just because they're wolves.” Kyandi snapped.
“Oh such a fine little fox. You'll be the first if they don't leave- Heed my warning.” Madame Luna cackled as she hobbled away.
Logus had told the group to meet them at the shack next to the ski lift if they wanted snowboarding or skiing equipment. The bear saw the pack approaching and happily acknowledged them, “Hello. What can I do for you today?”
“We need some snowboarding equipment.” Vin responded.
“I got just the thing.” Logus replied pulling out four sets of goggles, helmets, and snowboards. While the snowboards were all a light blue color, the goggles and helmets all had matching colors that varied. Vin took a light blue set, Ravix took a forest green set, Kyandi gravitated towards the silver, leaving Kiba with a black set.
The group strapped on their helmets and goggles and carried the snowboards towards the lift. As they were about to get on Logus stopped them.
“Wait! Did you see Madame Luna again?” the bear interjected huffing a little like he had just run a marathon.
“Yeah. That creepy hag told us Kyandi would be first if we didn't leave.” Ravix replied.
“Okay, just be careful. She would love to capitalize on some snowboarding accident as a reason to get everyone to leave.” Logus added still trying to catch his breath.
“Will do.” Kiba nodded.
The four boarded the lift up the mountain ready for some fun. “Who's snowboarded before?” Kiba inquired.
Ravix, Vin, and Kyandi were all silent. None of them had snowboarded before, they just thought it would be fun. Kiba was prepared for this though, “Okay I'll just have to give you all some pointers.”
Kiba showed the others the proper form and how to keep balanced. Kyandi fell on her butt once which prompted Kiba to laugh at the fennec uncontrollably. Vin got the hang of it pretty quickly and soon all four were snowboarding down the mountain slope.

Meanwhile back at the lodge, Kitti and Rin were at the front desk talking to Trina. The red wolf was telling them about all the special events, meals, and attractions. “So tonight we have an all-you-can eat steak, chicken, and potatoes dinner; followed by a werewolf movie marathon; tomorrow we'll be having fortune telling all day with madame Luna; and then on Sunday it's our big send-off brunch.”
“Why is Madame Luna hosting an event?” Kitti questioned.
“We offered it to her to stop scaring away guests.” Trina answered with a smile.
“What's her deal anyway?” Rin added.
“She's just a very superstitious gypsy. She claims her husband died due to a wolf attack in September of last year, but most of us believe he just had a heart attack after wrestling with a dog.” Trina replied.
Kitti and Rin walked away from Trina. “Heart attack, hmm this seems suspicious.” Kitti mumbled.
“Kitti don't start going all detective on us again. Last time you locked yourself in a room with 6 boxes of cat food, and a pile of Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple, and Nancy Drew novels for a whole week.” Rin said.
“It's fine. It just feels like Logus and Trina are hiding something. Maybe they know more than they are letting on.” Kitti replied.
The two kept talking, they failed to pay attention as they walked straight into a group of four, a male purple and gray Wusky (Wolf/Husky), a male gray German Shepherd, a male Capuchin Monkey, and a female Raven. “Oh we're so sorry.” Kitti apologized.
“It's okay. I think we're all okay.” the monkey replied.
“I'm Kitti and this is Rin. We won tickets here from a radio contest.” Kitti replied to the monkey.
“Oh nice to meet you Kitti. I'm Sebastian, everyone calls me Seb, the Wusky is Lucian, the Gshep is Lysander, and the Raven is Tara.”
“It's nice to meet you too.” Kitti acknowledged.
The groups went their separate ways as Kitti and Rin returned to their cabin. Looking back they noticed their new acquaintances were being heckled by Madame Luna. Trina shooed away the cougar, but Tara looked terrified, Seb and Lysander were trying to comfort her.
**************************
A few hours passed, the group of ten reunited near the dining room hall for the all-you-can-eat chicken, steak, and potatoes dinner. Vek, Leon, Lomein, and Marshall had finally left their rooms after spending most of the day inside. The three wolves and Kyandi were in high spirits from their time spent snowboarding. Rin seemed ready to eat, but was flanked by Kitti who seemed very puzzled looking up some information on her cell phone.
“There she goes in full detective cat mode again.” Rin acknowledged.
“She does this all the time Rin, just let her go.” Marshall responded.
The others were about to jump in when a news bulletin popped up on the TV in the lobby. The rabbit news anchor suddenly began to speak. “This is Kara Cottontail with an urgent news bulletin. The mayor's office is declaring a state of emergency starting Saturday, January 23rd at 7:00 am and expected to expire on Monday, January 25th at 1:00 am due to a large imminent snowstorm expected to hit all areas surrounding the base of Mount Wolf. With more on this our local chief meteorologist Lester Thunderhoof.”
The screen switched over to a horse pointing at a local weather map. “This is Lester Thunderhoof. Wednesday afternoon our models projected a small snow squall hitting the surrounding areas, but the most recent models suggest that the local areas will be slammed with 12-25 inches of snow with snow coming down at 1-3 inches an hour at times. The snow will be serious and with strong winds we advise everyone to stay inside. This will affect all areas surrounding Mount Wolf, but is expected to miss Mount Wolf due to a pressure system...”
The horse mumbled off technical details. Apparently Mount Wolf would have mostly clear weather with a possible light snow shower in the morning to afternoon hours Saturday and Sunday, but would be unaffected by the blizzard-like conditions in surrounding areas expected to start early Saturday and end late Sunday evening. The group seemed mostly unphased as they entered the dining area for dinner.
Meanwhile, at the lodge's check-in desk Trina was just getting a call. The dragon from the bus company told her that due to the state of emergency being declared all bus travel up and down the mountain would be canceled until Monday morning, excluding one last trip tonight after dinner time. The wolf quickly typed into the system and printed out some vouchers. She walked into the dining area to join the guest.
Kiba was ripping into another chicken leg as Ravix was also consuming her rare steak. The wolves and everyone else stopped eating for a minute when the red wolf walked in proclaiming she had an announcement.
“Hello everyone. I have some bad news. Due to the state of emergency that the mayor is declaring for all surrounding areas the bus system going up and down the mountain will be canceled until Monday after one last trip tonight. Anyone that wishes to leave, the bus will leave an hour after dinner ends and we will check you out in a prompt and orderly manner. If you wish to stay, but were booked only until Sunday, Logus and I are providing you with a free night for Sunday due to this situation. We hope everyone enjoyed and will continue to enjoy their stay here at Wolfland Lodge.” Trina said.
The guests continued eating, but Kitti looked over at Seb's table. The monkey was talking to the German Shepherd, which seemed pretty normal, however Tara the raven seemed very uneasy. Almost paranoid. Lucian tried to talked to her and she got up and stormed off. Kitti had no clue what was going on, most of the other guests glanced at the raven and then looked back at their food. Kitti got up and walked away from the Badger and Dhole, who were chomping down their food, to walk over to Seb.
“Hi Seb. I was just wondering is Tara okay?” Kitti questioned.
“She'll be fine, she's just really paranoid about all the snow and what Madame Luna said that she wants to leave right away. She thinks Lucian is going to attack her. She wanted to go to her room and pack up everything for the bus ride.” Seb replied.
Kitti returned to the table to see that the Dhole had finished even more chicken wings. The badger was eating a baked potato now. Kitti noticed that Lucian, Trina, Kiba, Vin, and Ravix were all eating much more savagely than the others. Ripping large pieces of flesh from the chicken with bared fangs and consuming steaks in very few bites. She shrugged it off for now and returned to her plate with chicken and potatoes.
Dinner went by smoothly, most of the conversations were centered around the snow or Madame Luna's prophetic ramblings. Vek and Kitti talked about what happened with Tara and how a lot of the guests seemed like they were going to leave on the bus. After dinner ended the group of ten all returned to their rooms to prepare for the movie marathon. They had all agreed they were going to stay the weekend, regardless of the snow and the stories. However, almost all of the other guests had formed a large group in the lobby that were checking out and boarding the bus. Trina and Logus were working like crazy to get everyone checked out and onto the bus in an orderly fashion.
Tara had joined the group late and was accompanied by Lysander. Seb, and Lucian begged her to stay, but she was determined to go. Lysander was unsure of his stance, but figured he wouldn't let Tara go alone so he accompanied her. It was a long wait, but they finally checked themselves out and were on the full bus headed down the mountain.
**************************
As the group of seven rejoined Kitti, Rin, and Marshall they were surprised to see the lodge was now mostly empty. In fact it seemed like the only guests left besides them were Seb, Lucian, and a moose. They approached Logus at the check-in desk.
“Hi Logus, we're just wondering how many guests are left here at the lodge?” Vek questioned.
“Well it's you ten, the monkey, wusky, and moose. That's it.” Logus replied.
“Really?” Kitti interjected.
“Yeah. Everyone else left either because of the snow or Madame Luna. The werewolf movie marathon is still a go though.” Logus added.
The group entered the area where Trina had set up a screen and a projector. The list of movies potentially on queue were An American Werewolf in London (1981), The Wolf Man (1941), The Howling (1981), The Werewolf of London (1935), Ginger Snaps (2000), Dog Soldiers (2002), The Company of Wolves (1984), Wolf (1994), Silver Bullet (1985), and Wolf Girl/Blood Moon (2001). However, that would result in a 16 hour long movie marathon. Trina had selected An American Werewolf in London, The Wolf Man, and Dog Soldiers which would still be a long four and a half hour movie marathon.
Vek, Vin, Kiba, Leon, Lomein, Rin, and Ravix were all excited. Kyandi, Kitti, and Marshall were not as thrilled. The Moose from earlier was nowhere to be seen and neither was Lucian, but Seb joined the group in the viewing area. He overheard the end of a discussion from Marshall and Kitti.
“Why are we even here Kitti? Who even wants to watch old movies?” Marshall asked.
“It doesn't matter Marshall. We agreed we would do what Rin wants now and he wanted to watch the movie marathon.” Kitti retorted.
The badger crossed his arms and sat down. The movie was just about to start and no one was quite sure where the moose and Lucian had gone, but they just assumed they went back to their rooms. The movie started and everyone went silent enjoying the movie. Ravix, Kiba, Rin, and Vin had really gotten engrossed in the movie as they couldn't be deterred from the screen. However just as the transformation scene was about to start a big thump could be heard on the side of the lodge. It sounded like someone or something had slammed into it. Then there was a thud like something heavy had hit the ground followed by a loud echoing howl. Kiba, Ravix, Trina, and Vin couldn't control themselves as they joined in on the howl.
As the howl subsided though, Kitti, Vek, and Logus went outside to investigate. It was the moose, he looked like he was mauled by a large animal. Blood, hoof imprints, and claw marks were on the side of the lodge to indicate a struggle occurred. Kitti and Vek rushed to the moose's side to realize he was dead. His neck had a very deep neck bite wound. Logus rushed inside to call the police, but the phone line was dead.
“Fuck,” Logus screamed profanities, “The dang phone line is out.”
Trina had stopped the movie and the others quickly joined the exploration. It wasn't long until they discovered the phone line had been torn by claws. Logus could repair it, but not until daytime. Everyone tried their cell phones, but the signal had been dropped for some reason. Trina tried the internet and was successful in sending a message to the local authorities, but due to the time of night nothing could be done until morning.
Everyone went to bed uneasy. No one knew for sure what exactly caused this incident, but they were extra cautious to lock their doors and windows. Vin couldn't sleep though, his mind was racing. He took a key and exited the room ensuring to re-lock the door properly. The night sky had become cloudy now, the full moon was completely covered in clouds. Vin had a gut feeling that his fellow wolves were experiencing the same racing thoughts. He walked up to the neighboring room that contained Kiba, Ravix, and Kyandi and knocked on the door. *Knock, knock, knock*
