...does the seal belong to Simon? I mean, Simon was just said to be loaded with literal spy ware, and he's standing right next to them. It certain puts some of the lovey dovey scenes between the deer and seal in a different perspective. But if the deer belongs to Leon (for the obvious reason it was cuddling the seal) then... what is Sei's spirit animal and why isn't it in her own head?
