In the face of friends who were less than encouraging, and in an effort to give his cousin Cecil some time alone after the death of his parents, Cedric left his homeland to study at the University of Anthrodam. Mocked by his mage classmates and discouraged by his folf professors, he was determined to show them just how capable dragons were at scholarship. Rising through the ranks steadily, Cedric went from graduation to tenure astoundingly rapidly. While Cedric became the youngest professor in the Department of Psychiatry, he never once felt antagonistic toward his former bullies. “Persistent optimism,” he said, “and the ability to forgive. These are the marks of true learning.” Never malicious toward his colleagues, Cedric reveled in pointing out the pros in others’ stances and always following up with the cons while his opponent was in a good mood. Cedric became much better at keeping his passion for rationalism in check during public speaking compared to his cousin. Yet both of them still preferred the solitude of a book over the tumult of festivities.
