Rough concept sketches for a gryphon that I had to get out of my head. This one is a Ornate Hawk Eagle/Snow Leopard cross. I discovered these birds while doing image searches on Google. I think they are really awesome looking birds and the idea of making a gryphon popped in to my head. I’m not much for gryphons (probably because I struggle with drawing birds) but I really liked this combo idea. This kinda of turn out to be a study on drawing wings, as well. I’m not thrilled on how the wings turned out, especially the on the top one, but I learned quite a bit. I still need lot of practice. If anyone has any tips or advice for drawing wings, please share.
