This reminds me of a dream I had in regards to the god of winter. At the end of the season, he makes his way to a cave in which he dies alone so that the spring god can come and take its place in the world.

Wow....the underlying theme of this image is one of deep sadness and isoliation...we know that he is safe here, away from the threats, challenges and changes to his environment, but yet he misses his life as it should be...a sad image for me as well.
