I live in a quite developed California .... this was the wilderness that we passed through. So if anything, it was a change of scenery to me and my friend. So I don't need pity... I simply got satisfaction from the awesome view.

I live in the big city but thats the kind of view I get driving out and away. Does not matter which way I will get wide open desert at some point.
