Designed a while back and based off a client's cat. Every element was researched with care to mean something... then she took it to a tattoo artist that said "I don't DO other artist's work" and edited it int,o a completely different cat and eliminated the elements we agreed upon and the client said "Well, I didn't get your design, so I'm not paying."
Still peeved.
