While the Vega Protectorate's fighter fleet is still largely comprised of Outriggers, the Impi was developed so that the Protectorate could have a fighter of their own design. designed to fill the role of a dedicated interceptor, The Impi is a two-man fighter with a chin-mounted twin light laser cannon turret and twelve missile tubes. It's speed and armor are second-to-none however because it has no FTL capabilities of it's own the Impi is completely dependent on support craft to get it from one system to another. something which has restricted it's ultimate goal of replacing the Outrigger completely in Protectorate fleets.
