I'm sick of people going "And you even get paid??" whenever they hear the job I have.
I won't deny it's a comfortable job, but we get paid too little and we get pressured a lot. XD
Trust me if it wasn't a real job, they would get people to do it for free.
If you find this remotely funny tell me, and I'll try to start sketching job situations a la
ollis XD
(also, 100 points to whomever gets the conglom-o reference without needing google)

Yeah. Game testing is way unlike what most people think. People just assume it's a lot like when games do open Beta and then they get to play a version of the game and look for little glitches. It's a liiiiiittle more in depth than that! =p My roomie game tested for a while in undergrad, so I've heard alllll about it.
Yes, it is funny! I like how his eyes appear he's mesmerized by having to look at game screens all day. I imagine there are times when you get sick of watching them. Have you ever wanted to put something in the game that would drive the consumer crazy? Something that would make it impossible to go to a level that doesn't exist?
Well, you have lots of errors that happen in games, like hitting an invisible wall in a racing game, or being able to walk through walls.
It's not common to be asked your opinion, sometimes they do, most of the time it's motivational bullshit, and rarely because the game is not coming out ok, and they need an outside view.

dude, it's outsourcing, we get paid waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay less than that (I'm not working full time, but the guys that do win less than that, then again, that's why they hire outside USA)
you might probably get better payment over there, if most game companies weren't loosing money by the 100s of millions this year

Trust me, don't XD
It's a nice job to have, but definitely not for free.
People thinks it's fun, but only if you find fun to play the same level over and over again.
And when you find a bug, being able to remember all the stuff you did so you can reproduce it.
And then, repeat the same bug over and over again, until you are sure you found the right way to do it.
Sometimes it's just reaching to a point and the game crashes by itself, but other times, you have to jump backwards three times, then press start, then leave the game alone for 30 minutes then get yourself killed. (literally some bugs only occur when certain stuff is met, even if I'm making jokes here)

An acquaintance of mine worked as a game tester for Infogrames several years back. He was there during the time that they were putting out Neverwinter Nights. I recall the pay being lousy and only being offset by the sheer amount of overtime he was required to put in.
Then, they flew him and the other testers out to Washington state or something for the final week of testing before the game was supposed to go gold. He says he got about 16 hours of sleep over the course of that week.
Then he came home and passed out on our couch and pissed himself. Ruined the couch.
Game testing ruined my furniture.

I work for a company that recently fired a guy for breaching his confidentiality contract on a forum.
So I'm not telling cause I'm contract bound not to do it XD
I will distort all the info I put here for the same reason, the company we outsource to, game names, platforms, even my salary is confidential according to the contract XD
Well, we play games a lot, we just play them differently in a research-way, not in a fun way XD

...what? no overtime pay? D: Oh HELL NAW
I'm gonna guess that.. you're not working for a videogame company, but rather an outsourced testing-company?
Best of luck with the Testing :> The pic shows ya working on a console game, here's to hoping you can nab a sweet compliance\standards bug and put your name on it!

I think it might just be a recopilation video, since the cover they show is this:
http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3626147328/tt0106115
but I hope I'm wrong and eventually will find a link to get it
