A few weeks ago I got a call, early on a sunday, asking me to come into work. Uhh, I didn't want to trade days with anyone and come in that day, because that was actually the most convenient day for me to be off. The actual conversation more consisted of me saying I'd "think about it" and then turning off my phone.
Also, the guy who called out sick was _most definately_ at home playing with his PS3, so damned if I wasn't gonna be.

Oh, of course. I remember when a coworker that no longer works at my place had repeatedly called in, saying she couldn't work cause she lost her glasses yet again. Well, seeing that I'm someone who relies on my glasses, I had no small problems with that statement. I always keep my pair in a specific place every time I go to sleep, so they could never go missing. She kept losing hers at least once or twice a week, and relied on them just as much as myself. Oh, in a different spot every time too, haha. :D
I didn't have a legitimate excuse either, really. I think that the comic makes fun of me and my desire to be left to my playstation more so than my work, as none of my bosses are actually that easily decieved. I would have gone in if I could have just kept those hours, but I would be giving up my day off and effectively not being paid for it, because it wouldn't result in more money, just different time off later in the week and the reschedualing would have been, uh, bad. And not just from the standpoint of my own non-life, but because they were attempting to call me in for a closing shift, where I would do nothing but clean up, and giving up one of my morning shifts where I could do my _important department manager things_.
