Somehow there's something familiar about this picture. Something that tells me that this is a parodied version of artwork that is already created.... But I can't put my finger on it...... The positions of each of the charterers, and their expressions.... Why do they look the same as this picture?

Something tells me you're not familiar with the "draw the squad/OCs" meme thing? The artist of that image even says in the description that this is a meme that a lot of artists have done with a link to the same Tumblr post I linked to (which I realise has been deleted). I'm gonna assume that you didn't read that.
