Got a Whale of a Tale to Tell Ya Lass,
<i>"A whale of a tale and it's all true,
I swear by my tattoo!"</i>
OK so, bit a background on this one:
It's all traditional, colored pencil/pastel/watercolor! This was before I knew my gouache well enough to try it, and this piece is actually over a ywar old! Yep, it was done my senior year of college for my Master Techniques class, taught by the most AMAZING Steve Costanza. (Mozart Makes a Melody, Vivaldi and the Invisible Orchestra,)
The project was a poster for a play, and the play I chose was this pirate themed play where they performed a bunch of sea ditties for the whole project.
This piece is about 16x24, I think, and looks much more stunning up close than this photo.
When I have my old studio back, I really want to do more with colored pencils.
