I went on a second trip to Mt. Rushmore this week. On my way back from the mountain I passed a billboard advertising dinosaurs in a town called Hill City. Naturally, I took a detour to investigate. I drove through the town's main street from one side to the other, and saw nothing. I turned around, and was about to continue my way back to Rapid City when I noticed the building, which was not that big.
But dang, are they loaded with dinosaur fossils! The museum is just one room, but it is packed. And many are the real thing, not casts. Including a T.Rex that named "Stan". I spent a good deal of time inside, taking lots of photos, including this model of one little, unborn raptor, growing inside its egg. The "Aaaawwww!!" factor is inevitable. And I could not help but think that my Darkthunder would had looked just like this before he was born. Except less feral, of course.
Sorry for the glare and reflections; this model was behind a glass door on the lowest level of a cabinet, and it was impossible to get a better view because of the lighting.
