StarFox Zero just made me want to play Adventures again, and so I did.
Forgot what a gem that game is. Gets WAY too much hate...
Around that time, I grew incredibily fascinated with the game Dinosaur Planet, the game SFA was meant to be before Miyamoto made Rare use StarFox characters instead.
it was meant to have a much more expansive story.
Rare's buyout forced them to rush SFA in the end, which becomes apparant at around halfway, when the last 2 worlds are much shorter, and becomes obvious when you suddenly get the collectibles at a very fast rate in the final stretch of the game.
One of the most fascinating leftovers of Dinosaur Planet is Drakor. While he was a boss with no plot signficant in SFA, he was actually the primary antagonist in Dinosaur Planet, after General Scales.
After Scales' death, it becomes apparent that Drakor pulled the strings the entire time. He was also the one who gave Scales his technology, like his warp belt.
Drakor is a descendent of the Kamerian dragon race, who waged war with the Krazoa in the beginning of the universe.
The Krazoa nearly went extinct, but in the end, they won the war with the Kamerians.
The Kamerians are the creators of the dinosaurs. The last Kamerian dragon fell to Dinosaur Planet, and was considered a god to the dinosaurs.
His heart still lies in Dragon Rock.
Turns out the Krazoa were the ones who started the war, and they didn't really have the best intentions, either, making Drakor somewhat of an ambigious villain.
While there's a detailed synopsis of the entire game, the last chapter is not described, leaving us to wonder what the ending of the story would be...
Drakor as he would've appeared in Dinosaur Planet: http://rareminion.com/dp/images/images/finalboss.jpg
Either this image is flipped around, or he really is wearing his arm cannon on his right arm, as opposed to his left arm in SFA.
Truly, a gem was lost... But if we got Dinosaur Planet, we wouldn't have gotten StarFox Adventures... At the very least we now have SFA and the knowledge of the existence of Dinosaur Planet.
If we got Dinosaur Planet instead, we never would have known about SFA...
(I can't reliably draw consistent heads/faces... Didn't help the images I used for reference where sucky and left parts of his body out, leaving me to guess...)
