this is the midi file i used to make the previous upload it is in XG format
i kinda hope someone comes along and takes this and modifies it,
i would like to hear the result of that ^_^
what if there was a place, that distrubuted "open source" MUSIC
just think, the collective work of thousands of people in one song,
think about that for a second,
there would of course be some standard one would have to follow,
the samples and sounds would all have to published free of rights,
THINK OF IT!
it would be amazing, would it not?
it may be far fetched, and due to the different genres and cultures it might not be 100% feasible, but it COULD work if everyone put their minds to it...
lets just call this track open source and see what kinda crazy things happen!
*throws a box of silverware into a finely honed machine*
...blowing smoke out my ass...

Music is actually pretty easy to sequence if you have the time, tools and patience,
as for actually playing a musical instrument in real time... its a skill that takes a lot of time to master, if you have the coordination to do it at all,
i couldn't play a set of drums to save my life,
im not so good with the guitar and bass, but i do try,
i have been messing with keyboards since i had my fisher-price toy piano when i was 1 XD, but im still no Keith Emerson, in fact, im below average,
----
art on the other hand, can take a while to master too, but i think its a little more avalible to people as they go, not everyone grows up around musical instruments (which is a tragedy in its own right) but almost all of us are taught to use a pencil to write at school, that eventually has to accustom ones hands to using a stylus, so i think drawing figures comes more naturally to people,
----
personally i think that works that were done by hand, with no computer, are much more entertaining and rewarding then CG stuff.
BUT
since not everyone has the talent to do it otherwise, or simply cant afford a studio )(art or music) that using a computer to make stuff can make things much easier, i will admit that i sequenced all of this and that all i did was click my mouse,
(no kidding, all this was done with one finger and a pointing device)
call me a hypocrite, but i actually dislike watching movies and listeing to music that was done solely on a computer, its just obvious not as much effort was put into it that would have had to if it were not done via a computer,
but i make music that way because i admit i cant play anything all that well,
XD
either way, beauty truly IS in the eyes and ears of the beholder,
i just have a lot of patience, and software.
the only programs i used to make this is Jazzware (an old out of date midi sequencer with no frills) and i made it to be played back on a
Yamaha S-YXG100Plus softsynth, which is a peice of software that was discontinued over 10 years ago, XD
im to cheap for modern programs, and at them moment, i dont have a pc capable of running new stuff. so im doing things retro style for a while.
personally, i think music is easier if you do things on a computer, but if not, i think art would be easier since the tools are readily at hand and an eraser makes things forgiving,
-not that making things on a pc takes as much skill, its an easy way out.
that said, i wish i would have taken music class instead of art class when i was at school, as im much more interested in music,
the damn public schools, they called music an "EXTRACURRICULAR ACTVITY" while art class was mandatory... bullshit. XD
