here we find out what happens when you tamper with power thats not kept in check, after a grueling battle with ancient demons, several of the 12 Talismans were damaged, Jade was told by Uncle not to touch them, for their magic was now out of balance but Jade being who she is didn't heed her elders warning and picked up what she thought would be a harmless one, the Rat Talisman which grants motion to the motionless, shes already able to move so it didn't seem like a big deal, but with the talisman cracked the magic did the reverse effect, turning Jade into a motionless puppet of her former self, the Talisman fused into her and its had a ripple effect on causality, all traces of Jade were now wiped from existence, the magic removed her from her own reality as Uncle walked over and found this puppet on the floor and assumed it was one of many items on sale.

Around that same time Viper was entering the shop to see Jackie but ripple effect altered her reasoning for coming here, now she was here to steal from this shop she got Intel had priceless artifacts called Talismans, pretending to be a normal customer she made her way too them and wasn't impressed with what she saw, she picked up the one with a monkey on it that supposedly granted the power to turn into any animal, so she decided for a laugh to say "Viper" and it began to glow but also crackle as its magic turned her into a snake but it only did half the job leaving Viper half human and half snake, but now the Talisman was fused inside of her too and like Jade it's effects removed her existence from their reality.

Viper tried to slither away but suddenly had a glass jar placed around her by Uncle who thought this unique looking snake might be worth some money, so Viper became the stores pet for sale as she was placed on the shelf next to a wooden doll on strings, Viper saw the Talisman merged inside of her and came to the conclusion she also suffered as similar fate. As months went by, Vipers loneliness on the shelf made her start to forget who she once was, she began routinely talking to the doll (though to everyone else it was just hissing) and even gave her the name "Pine" forming a one sided friendship over the next few months but as time wen on her sanity gradually slipped away, until after a year of being like this, Viper only thought of snake things, she was just an animal in a glass box waiting for her daily feeding, all while deep down in the subconscious of "Pine", her mind was relieved to finally having this snake woman shut and stop treating her like some kind of human, while she did like the name she was given, Pine was happiest when she was ignored, motionless, and feeling the dust collect all over her wooden body.
