Help! I'm A Fish! - All You Need is Magic Potion
Joe the pilot fish (and later human/fish abomination) from Help! I'm A Fish. Joe's such a trooper. He basically grows an entirely new skeleton and organ systems in several seconds and isn't even phased by it.
Reasons why you should see Help! I'm A Fish!, the Danish-German-Irish traditionally animated family film:
*Alan Rickman voices a villainous pilot fish named Joe and it's one of his best acting performances.
*Alan Rickman has a villain song in this movie where he sings about potions and intelligence.
*that pilot fish ODs on magic potion (basically fish potion turns humans into a fish, fish antidote makes fish more human, and Joe decided he really needed to answer some science problems), turns into a hideous mockery of a human being, and then promptly drowns in one of the most grisly 2D animated deaths ever and it's awesome.
*that's not even getting into the really delightful nerdy scientist voiced by Terry Jones that sings a song called "Fishtastic".
*the animation is fantastic
*look at this beautiful fish man, just look at him.
I was super surprised that I hadn't heard of the movie until very recently because it quickly became one of my favorite animated films. It has everything you would ever want in a children's film, including catchy music, traumatic body horror and a scene where a small child nearly bleeds to death. Fun for the whole family.
Anyways, I had to draw this ugly bastard since DeviantART, normally the bastion of finding art of the most obscure cartoons, didn't have a single piece of colored fanart of Joe's gross human form. So I decided to fill that void.
Human is such an overstatement though.
