Looks kinda evil doesn't she? This is what happens when you use a flash to get better illumination on the bunny sitting under your truck.
She just sat there and posed for me while I took various pictures with my Canon and my phone. She usually nests under the pine tree next to my trailer during the day, but today was enjoying the breeze under the truck. I tell people she's my yard bunny and call her Bunny-Buns.

Those cameras will trick you! But it's okay. It's a nice kind of dramatic touch.
As for the veggies, I wonder if she knows they're edible. A cottontail who mostly eats grass and maybe a few things like the leafy tops of carrots might not realize that a lot of what we eat as vegetables are food. Or maybe she's just shy. Either way, it's a really sweet thing for you to do for her, and maybe she'll get comfortable enough to take a nibble.

Yep....their digestive system is set up to need hay big time. Though I guess most any dried grassy stuff qualifies as long as it's edible. I kinda think most wild cottontails around here don't even have access to water. It's pretty scarce. They probably live on the moisture in what they eat and maybe lapping dew?
If you wanna try for me, that's fine. I can defend myself. But this sweet, innocent bunny needs protecting. And I'm just the protective rabbit to do it. So yes, I'm vicious. You would be too if it was a little tiny gryphon and I wanted to suck it's blood or something.....wouldn't you?
She's so funny. This morning she was sitting right out in the open about 4 feet from my truck. I got in to go somewhere and figured she'd run when I started it as it's a noisy diesel. But no, she just sat there. While I was waiting for my gate to open I looked in the rear view and she was still sitting there. Nerves of steel, that bunny has!
You should have seen her today. I was hauling sacks of bark around on what used to be our lawn and dumping them out and raking the bark out nice. She was lying in the shade about 10 feet away watching me and occasionally getting up to groom herself for a minute, then flop back down. She watched me do this for about 1/2 hour and then my rake handle broke, so I had to go fix it. When I came back she was gone. I guess she thought the entertainment was over for the morning.
