It's funny. Normally I'd point out that female goldfinches are very dull, dingy looking things, sort of like a shirt that's been washed a few dozen too many times.
But it would have been just such a shame to give this lady normal female goldfinch colors. Artistic license (and feather dye?) for the win! ^.^
