It was a 1972 model, back before the silly bumper era. :)

I just learned today that Mercedes-Benz is the ONLY auto manufacturer in the US to have a Classic Parts Center. They do not consider ANY of the parts for ANY of their cars to be obsolete. They have parts dating back to 1886. And it is conveniently located in Irvine, California. You probably already knew all of this, but I just found that fascinating.
