My Vortian Herd Leader Dorado which means Golden Color in Spanish
Leader of his herd through a friendly battle challenge (literally) the leader before him was getting tired and just wanted to retire his position so he offered Dorado the position, and Dorado said yes so they both agreed to fight for the position to see if Dorado was strong enough.
No punches were pulled, they both gave their All in the fierce battle and Dorado almost ended up breaking the Ex Leaders ribs and right arm!
Dorado won fare and square and proved his might and worth.
I LOVE how he came out, he's one of those characters that I'm super proud to say I came up with him -^^- <3
Dorado is 35 yrs old but has been aged by his position as leader, having to find food/shelter/safety for his herd and defending his herd from Danger and his position against other rival adversaries who wouldn't brush off the chance to have a strong loyal herd to back them up in any situation.
In my headcannon I picture most Vortians as "Nomads" they don't stay in one place for long unless they find somewhere Perfect! Peaceful, plenty of food and water and shelter/ and a safe place to raise babies and families :)
I also liked CuddlesAndHuggles 's headcannon of Vortians having a bit of Cowboy/western culture in their way of living.
I like western stories.
Herd Leaders Fight for Patriarchy and the chance to build up their herds into BIG numbers, Village sized ones even.
Females can roam in herds as well but its not surprising to see them on their own instead, wanting to have a life of independence.
But they can choose to join a herd if they want even find a mate or special someone in that herd -^^-
