Like DiNozzo Sr. he shoots for the high class big time scores, but isn't as lucky, so half the time he lives out of a bus station locker. Was VERY MUCH not in Nick's life early on. Only got on touch after Nick started to grift, looking for a partner in crime or at least someone to sponge off of. While Nick has been a hustler, he was both very good at it, and didn't need to really go too far or hurt anyone to get by. His Dad tended to over-reach and didn't care about consequences, so burned bridges and shat where he ate, needing to relocate and/or lay low when things went awry. So, whenever Nick Sr. shows up, Nick knows it is either because he needs something or things Nick has something he can take. Very much the narcissistic sociopath.
