I didn't - I just tried a couple variations with different light setups and this one ended up looking like the best one, so I went with it. I knew it had to be high contrast though (otherwise I would have had to make the background too dark) in order to keep the original lighting concept of the piece. I still think pure white would have looked good as well, but in this case I wanted to convey the warmer atmosphere of the kitchen, hence the warm lights. :)
