Awww, that really reminds me of the original story and the Disney 1938 animated short Ferdinand The Bull where a big but gentle bull who rather sit under the tree and SSMMELLL the flowers all day.

I honestly never saw that, so I have to say that this idea (that I did here) came directly from my mind

Most of Kwajalein's American population have been civilians, as we were. Some of the brightest technological minds, along with their families if they had any. Though technically a base, it often felt more like a town.

Sounds lovely, though

Well, some people thought it was. And some people couldn't see past the mildew and the salt spray. Some people almost literally got off the plane, looked around, and got back on it.

In honesty, there were things about the place that were fantastic, and some things that were terrible. It was poorly-run, but the neighborhoods could be lovely. From what I understand now, many of the neighborhoods are gone now - they've been torn down, and there are far fewer people there than before. It'll never be the same again. Just as well - someday the U.S. should return the island to the Marshall Islands with whose people it rightly belongs.

So where do you reside now?
