Yaaaaay... change of plans, just 10 days before we leave for the US!
So, we plan to travel from East Coast to West Coast by car. And like the last time, we are asking you for help: We don't fancy the usual tourist attractions. We are searching for the small and special things you won't usually find when following the big signs.
So would you share a tip on...
- lovely places you only know when you are a local?
- romantic little hotels for a couple to stay for a night?
- workshops of master craftsmen one just has to visit when being in the area?
- big bio horse stables that welcome visitors (aside from pony play we also work professionally with bio horses)
We just would love to get a little help in getting to see the USA you wouldn't find in a catalog. :)
But most of all we'd like to meet you! So... care to drop us a line? We are still very open to adjust our schedule!

there is an old cold war missile defense system that was built in north Dakota that when shut down I believe became something and now someone bought it I think the person is turning it into a casino or hotel or something ill send a website of the information. Only reason I know is that when I took North Dakota Now a few years back my teacher mentioned it constantly.
im in northern California working as a taxi driver. Orinda is scenic and nice. not sure where the stables are. with a gps an a list will tell you different places to go. also instead of a hotel how bout gay resort instead? The Water garden in San Jose is at most 26-40 dollars for twelve hours right down the street from the convention center usually hosting Furcon

Kansas is full of Museums.
A lot of them are abandoned forts from the Civil War.
If you're going through Nebraska on i80 though, The Great Platte River Road Archeway Museum is a MUST.
It's about a 3 hour drive from where I live, so I'd love to meet up if possible, but it's jam packed with American history.

Be sure to stock up on snacks and drinks in South Dakota btw. There aren't any taxes on consumables. South Dakota and Kansas are both a really good place to get Western wear. Hats, boots, chaps, etc.
There's also a neat small leather shop here in Great Bend KS

I can tell you plenty of great places to eat if you're coming through Kansas as well.
