Had a lot of fun with this one. Short, about one page. Idea came from another story that I read once but I cannot find the original or even remember the author. Premise is exactly the same as his, but the thoughts the pilot is forced to deal with are different (in the story I read there was a copilot, though the copilot was unconscious).

The shortness is part of what flash fiction is about. The difficulty is making it short and good. Honestly, had I not seen something similar written by someone else this probably would have taken me about a full day to do instead of a couple hours since I would have needed to come up with the basics on my own.
