People are so fucking overpoliticized now! Political opinions have become a substitute for identity and even personality. Today looks like everyone has some kind of "political position" first and everything else in life becomes secondary.
I remember some time ago politics were something you perhaps thought about once a week or less, maybe you discussed it for a couple of minutes after watching the news. Today is like politics/religion is number one things in people's lives. Everywhere you go its all politics, politics, politics... (and religion, which is just another form of politics)
I remember having a relationship with a girl and being together for about eight months before we even discussed our personal beliefs. It was just not important at all. We had so many other things to talk about and to share together. And when it finally happened it was just like "Yeah, I'm a ______" and I was like "Oh, look at that! I happen to be a _______ (totally opposite thing to her)" And that was the end of it. We had great sex and we both liked the same kind of food. Who the fuck cares if we voted for different guys or had a totally different idea of how the world was formed? We both had a life.
And that's what I see on today's T-Shirt-wearing, sign-waving, blog-ranting, bumper-sticker, slogan-chanting, soap-box politic activist/evangelists...
...they don't have a life!
