I happen to be a long time fan of floating islands, thanks to the ideas of Laputa, Panel de Pon 1 and 2 stages
and of course, Knuckles' Angel Island.
Here is the place where Poms like me live at home. I'm not spectacular at drawing these, oopsies~ ^^;
Details aside, I think the pic gets job done, to a point. Winged it on the bottom spires, so they kinda appear... off.
The crystals in the two mountain peaks are Float Stones formed from the last eruption and jutted out from a big blast.
They give us control where the whole landmass is going, helped by a bit of magic piloting.
We do go to other seas if they are too rough/dangerous and sometimes set up on empty areas of land.
Why settle for a fixed "tropical fortress" when you can go mobile for adventuring? XD
