A brush of two pink tails rounded the corner in the quiet house in the living room. Light humming filled the kitchen as the female figure entered it swiftly. Sakura opened the refrigerator and picked out a lemon wedge from a bowl within before closing the door. She wore her usual green shirt with the rice ball character on it and a pair of jeans. The twin tailed vixen’s pink ears twitched as they listened for a specific sound amid the quiet afternoon. “Should be just about…” she thought before light whistling cut the silence suddenly as the ceramic kettle on the stove began to announce the readiness of the liquid held steeping inside of it. “Bingo.” she said as she turned the stove off and picked up the teakettle. She opened the lid and took a quick sniff of the tea and smiled to herself before the sound of the doorbell caught her attention.
“Coming!” she called as she moved through the living room past her baby grand piano fixture and to the door. Looking through the peep hole she was surprised to see Pips standing outside.
“Hello Pips. This is a surprise. I thought you would be at work today. I was about to have a cup of tea before my afternoon practice, would you like to join me?” she asked with a smile as she opened the door.
“Afternoon Sakura. That sounds nice, but I actually am at work. I’m here to make a delivery to you.” said the Dalmatian in reply.
“To me?” asked Sakura curiously.
“Yep. Got it right here. It has special instructions not to be delivered to anyone but you, and requires your signature.” explained Pips as she showed Sakura the small box. Immediately Sakura knew what it was.
“Oh right. I remember now.” said the vixen with a smile.
“Sounds like it’s important with those restrictions.” said Pips holding out a clipboard with the delivery order and a pen on it.
“Y-Yes. It’s from…my mom in Japan. You know she and dad moved there when Sly, Pearl, and I were old enough to move out on our own.” said Sakura a little nervously as she signed the papers.
“Oh yeah. She used to tell me that she dreamed of going back to Japan someday and owning a flower shop there. And your dad wanted to run a café if I remember correctly.” said Pips thoughtfully.
“Yes. They both did that and the two shops are right next to each other.” said Sakura with a slightly nervous chuckle.
“I’m glad to hear that. Maybe one day we can get them on skype or a phone call. I’d love to talk to them again.” said Pips with a smile.
“We should. I know they would love to hear from you as well.” said Sakura in return.
“Well I should get back to my route. We should get together soon though while you’re in town. I would love to hear you play again.” said the Dalmatian as she turned to leave.
“We will. I’ll call you later Pips.” said the vixen as she closed the door with a relieved sigh.
“I’m glad she didn’t ask any questions.” she thought as she walked into her room quickly. As she went she passed Pearl’s room. Pearl’s pet chameleon Fred watched her with one eye from his terrarium as she moved past the door. Entering her room she placed the discreet box on her dresser and stepped back from it. The box had no markings; no logos or symbols to tell where it came from or what might be inside of it. She watched it intently as if it would spring to life at any moment and open for her as she sat on her bed.
A few minutes passed as she wrestled with herself on whether or not to open the box. “Come on Sakura. You ordered it from that website and now it’s here. Are you going to back out now before you even open it?” she asked herself. She’d specified that the package be delivered at this time of day on a weekday to be sure that Pearl would be at work when it arrived. She hadn’t counted on Pips being the one to deliver it, but she had made it through that encounter awkwardly enough. Briefly she considered burying the box in junk within a bigger box and stuffing it deep in the back of her closet to be forgotten. She shook her head softly to clear those thoughts away and reached into her dresser to retrieve a pair of scissors. Very slowly she cut open the box. She could hardly believe she was doing this. A moment later and the box was open. There sitting amid the packing peanuts was a circular object. This object had become very familiar to her recently. It was a complete likeness of the collar she wore in her dreams, her fantasies. A blush spread across her face as the implications of what it embodied ran through her mind. The piano keys tag dangled proudly from the leather piece. She could feel the raised areas shaped like musical notes running along the outside of the rim. The inside was padded, ensuring that it would be comfortable to wear, even for prolonged periods of time. She wondered what it would feel like around her slender neck in real life.
“Sakura! Hey Kiddo I’m home!” came a loud voice from the front door. Sakura gasped as she realized she was inches from putting the collar on and quickly hid it and the box under her bed.
“Are you here?” asked the voice of her older sister coming down the hall.
“Y-Yes I’m here!” she called back.
“Alright. I only have a short amount of time before I have to go back to work. You mentioned that you wanted me to come home on lunch to listen to a new piece you’d been working on. I see you’ve already made tea so let’s get the show on the road.” said Pearl popping her head into her younger sister’s open bedroom door.
“Alright. I’ll be there in a minute. Would you mind pouring me a cup of tea?” asked Sakura.
“Sure thing Kiddo.” said Pearl walking back down the hall.
Sakura sighed inwardly at that. She had completely forgotten that Pearl was stopping in this afternoon. She usually drinks tea as part of her routine following lunch, but today it seemed the twin tailed vixen was going to need the tea to calm her nerves. “Oh well. I can decide what to do with it later.” she thought as she moved out of her room back toward the front of the house.

Sakura has a long way to go before she'll be ready to give herself to Sly for real, if she gets so hung up over just opening the box her new collar came in. Makes for a very interesting journey with her!
Also, she's such a "smooth" liar, it's amazing Pips didn't guess what was up. Then again, Pips probably delivers all sorts of inconspicuous packages, so this would just be one of many where she guessed something was afoot (a-paw?) but didn't say anything about it.

Hehe. Sakura is still a bit hesitant to take the leap. But she's tipping to the edge at least.
It was an unmarked box. The most Pips would likely conclude from her being flustered is that it might be a sex toy. It's fair to assume she thought that and didn't say anything out of respect for Sakura's privacy as her friend.
