Lygos Prime, also known as Antheon, is the homeworld of the Torix species.
It orbits within the habitable zone of Lygos, an orange main sequence star. It is the only planet to naturally bear life in the system.
Compared to Earth, Lygos Prime is slightly smaller and has a higher atmospheric oxygen level. It has a smaller axis and mild seasons. The planet is wet and covered in thick vegetation, though it does have some drier spots dominated by sparse grasslands and meadows.
Most of the land-based flora on Lygos Prime are flowering plants, and for these species most of their mass is dedicated to the flowers themselves. Flower-jungles stretch across the planet, blanketing the landscape in a kaleidoscope of oversized petals. Because of this, the staple foods of the Torix consists of flower products such as nectar, pollen and petals. Torix cusine is unbearably sweet to the average outsider’s palate.
At a glance it would seem that the majority of fauna on Lygos Prime are arthropoid in nature. Most have segmented exoskeletons, 6 or more limbs and other features consistent with the Earth-based taxonomical classification. Despite these similarities life on Lygos Prime is almost as diverse as life on Earth, with species ranging from microscopic scavengers to complex and intelligent herd beasts to massive solitary predators.
Like most of the other spacefaring species of the sector, the Torix have only recently become an interstellar race. Most of the Houses were founded on the planet’s surface some time before the rise of interstellar travel, and the territory of the planet is divided by the ancestral homelands of these houses. After the empire was founded the imperial government has steadily increased its hold on the homeworld in their attempts to make it a unified Torix world instead of one divided by historical and cultural borders, though it is unlikely any of the Houses will willingly hand over their territorial claims to the planet any time soon.
Despite the their xenophobic view of other species, the Torix are aware of the profitability of tourism, and as such have opened a few regions of the planet to outsiders.
