I tried an entirely new coloring style which involved making a white blocked in layer, then a shaded/highlighted in black and white layer above it on multiply (or just using black + eraser), then going back to the white blocked layer (locked) and blocking in the colors UNDERNEATH the shading. Usually you'd then go to the shaded layer and select areas over different colored parts and using the hue/saturation tool to change it to the correct color. I don't like this method, but it was sure worth a try! I'm much more comfortable working directly with the colors.

ocourse this has a filter on it so the black shading doesn't look so gross. And if you can't tell I'm a stylized whore.
