Kiwi wedding cake topper!
The groom's tie and hat-band are color-matched to the purples used as accents in the wedding (including the groom's actual tie), with a Cala lily bouquet to match the bride's flowers. (Added a sparkly bling headband atop the veil and a few faux-diamond gems to the veil itself after these photos were taken, but don't think I got many photos of it. I shall look for pictures taken of the actual cake if people are interested.)
They're approximately 4 inches tall, mounted to a 4 inch ceramic base. Done for my brother's wedding. :)
Polymer clay, metal armature, ceramic base, tulle veil, and a tiny smidgeon of acrylic paints for accents (eyelashes/eyeshine). Lots of hours in this....each of those flowers has a metal stem, as well as the hat and bouquet proper; plus the kiwis have metal skeletons and non-colored-clay "muscle layers" beneath the top coat of colored clay. If I had it to do over again, I'd've taken more WIP photos of the armature (also the base was a last-minute addition, which required pretty strong cement; would have mounted them directly to the base w/armature if they hadn't already been fired, which probably would make for a stronger anchoring, but ah well), since it's pretty extensive. Also I should've done more practical experimentation with making veils, in order to better understand how to anchor a headband-less veil to a ceramic figure (there's a slit in the back of the bride's head that the leading edge of the veil was inserted under and glued fast, but IMHO I cut the slit in the wrong direction - downwards instead of upwards - and the gap probably should have been wider, as I didn't account for how bunched up the tulle would be once sewn into a veil). But it's still pretty neat, and I like how it turned out!
All in all, lots of fun. ^_^
