Thanks Al. My laptop was down for a bit. I was streaming some sketch commissions and all of a sudden, my video card went out on me. Man, it sucked not only that I couldnt draw digitally, but all of my music is on there, I always have it connected to my tv and stereo via wireless, and I couldn't write. So I had to do some serious savings to get it fixed which wasnt a pretty penny =/ But hey- for the price I paid for this machine, it was well worth it rather than getting another laptop with far lower specs.

I kinda had a similar thing happen to my Macbook Pro's GPU. It was known failure during a certain period of years and mine was in that period. Apple did a free motherboard replacement (GPU was part of it) and had a date of, I think, late February of 2016. Well over the years nothing happen that then just two weeks before the expiration.... it happened. My GPU failed. It went slowly at first and then failure. WHEW!

So far it's back to normal and the Macbook Pro is still chugging along. Hell, the old 2007 MacBook I got is still running.

For sketching and even inking, I actually use the 13in iPad Pro now. Love it, love it, love it. The app I use is what everyone that has an iPad Pro on FA, and that is Procreate. Wonderful app. Sometime I wanna learn to paint my characters the way  veramundis does or something close. For the pic I'm working on now, instead of using the inking pen, I've actually used the technical pencil. That's basically like your mechanical pencil to "ink" my pic. It looks pretty good.

Man, talk about a close call for your warranty! 2 weeks before expiration? Man what luck you didn't have to buy a complete new one.

The warranty was up two years before this happened. It was an Apple Repair program. I just got lucky. It'll be a year or more before I do get a new one. The current machine probably won't be able to handle much 3D stuff for long but that's what I got the 6-core Mac Pro for.
