This is a full character description I wrote up for Kuki not too long ago. It's been updated over the past few months, and I feel it's at the point now where it's pretty much finalised. Kuki (pronounced like “Cookie”, written 句鬼 in Japanese kanji) is a rather friendly and timid tanuki, earning his namesake due to the “cookie dough”-esque colour of his fur.

Backstory
Kuki was born and currently resides in Japan (hence his name), and grew up in a family of well-known bakers (who themselves own a bakery). As a result, Kuki spent most of his time baking, eating and being with his friends. He wishes to continue the family tradition, having worked at the bakery since he was 14 years old, serving customers and working out back to bake various pastries to be sold. His favourite treats to bake for both himself and others are cookies, and as a result he has been given the nickname “Cookie Dough” by both his family and friends; although his soft waistline is also a contributing factor.
The small town he grew up in served as a comfortable start for the tanuki, his family having taught him how to be kind and communicate well with others; successfully going through school also helped him with that, so he has no trouble talking to new people. Despite this he also spent a lot of time on his own, perfecting his craft (of baking) and conjuring up new recipes and ideas for his family’s bakery. The bakery is well known, so it has received lots of international customers; years of dealing with these customers means his English is quite good. Of course, working at a bakery means a lot of leftover food and samples, leading to the tanuki carrying some extra weight on him. It’s never really been seen as an issue by anyone around his, so he isn’t intent on hiding the fact he’s quite overweight.

Physical Description
Kuki is not entirely unique for a tanuki of his age (outside of the abnormal colouring and fur pattern), however where he really draws attention is through his weight. He stands at a mere five-foot-six with a weight far too high for someone of his height. This tanuki weighs in at around 400lbs (180kg), with the weight fairly evenly distributed, but a bit extra going towards his rear, hips and belly. Alongside this, his moobs have grown to the point where they're obvious under any shirt, and stick out quite a bit. All of this leads to him having a quite feminine appearance. The one giveaway that this tanuki is male is through his larger than average balls; they’re not too large, but large enough to be seen under his clothing if precautions aren’t made to hide them from sight (which is what he usually does). His thighs have always been quite plump as well from the large amount of cardio he does in his spare time (which makes fitting into jeans pretty difficult). This tanuki’s face is much like the rest of his body, sporting a sizable double chin and fat, fluffy cheeks that accentuate his overall “round” appearance.
There is, however, one “downside” to his physical appearance (if you would call it that), in that he’s quite clumsy and forgets to wash himself too often. The tanuki is so used to being covered in mess from his time at the bakery that it has become the norm for his to be dirty, which can repel some customers. Most seem to remain uncaring, the strong scent of the baked goods deterring any of the tanuki’s own musk. It’s only when a one-on-one conversation is commenced that it becomes obvious, but most seem to be able to tolerate it. It’s become a sort of expectation for the people who know his by now. Of course, he can clean himself up when he has to, it just falls to the back of his mind most of the time.

Typical Attire
His wardrobe primarily consists of a number of both tight and loose-fitting shirts (he prefers the ones which are loose fitting), with a mixture of light and dark colours such as black, aqua blue, grey, magenta and white. He typically matches these with various tight-fitting pairs of denim jeans or dark chinos, with a belt wrapped around his wide waist for good measure. Underneath his pants, he usually sports a pair of spotted fabric boxers which cling tightly to his thick thighs. Further up on his body, the tanuki wears semi-thick rimmed glasses with a teal-viridian green beanie. When he’s in the bakery, he likes to wear a tight white apron, typically covered in mess from a hard day of work (the tanuki isn't known for his immaculate hygiene).

Personality
His personality is what others tend to compliment the most about Kuki (next to his almost outlandish stomach capacity), acting quite sweet and sensitive towards every person they come across, developing a lot of social skills from working with the many customers that enter their bakery. He is always up for a chat (and a snack) and tends to get along with others fairly well. The easiest way to this tanuki’s heart is through a few treats and a tight hug. He's quick to warm up to others if they seem nice enough. What helps with this is that the tanuki is quite open and flamboyant in nature, meaning he comes across as quite a friendly and outgoing guy.
