stupid idea for them to make the world submit when you've got macros on this planet who are more then happily ready to defend their family's, friends, homes, and planet from invasion!

Well I can only assume the actual body size of the individuals seemed not important enough to find out among all the sneaky research on their tech level, culture, defense rating, etc. :)

true, i think that they were looking at the rest of the planet when they scanned it.

It would be fun in the game if some of the sapient races really were of different sizes in the game. Nice depiction.

But that is just the thing I was musing about; until you actually have a meeting in person or open up an embassy, you might very well just not know. All you see would the be readings of their stats, hull and shield values, and the size of their ships at best. How are you supposed to know how big the creature on the video actually is compared to you, unless you ask and go really deep into their measuring units and can relate them to a constant you know the size of...
But I am ruining cool paw stuff with tech talk!

Could lead to another scenario involving two species of vastly different sizes making a mistake... something involving broccoli and trees...

I also wonder... how would something like an RTS play out with something like that. Could add unique mechanics.
