I don't know how well known Vivid is, but for the rest of the world who isn't Australia: Vivid is a yearly Sydney-wide art installation based around light. This is based on one of the installations, a set of bio-mechanical pterodactyls that ascend and descend by peddling on nearby exercise machines. A set of these guys were set up at my local train station, and they impressed me immensely. As a guy who never grew out of his dino/dragon phase, I was struck by how beautifully these were built. The 7 year old in me liked to picture them unhooking themselves and taking a glide around the technicolour-lit Sydney.
