Another Zootopia fanart. This time, I've drawn a member of the Zootopia Police Department, officer Grizzoli (Ok, ok, some people claims this guy is Fangmeyer, but Rich Moore said in a tweet that Fagmeyer is the tiger cop and Delgato the lion cop, so the artic wolf only can be Grizzoli).
Done in watercolours, like is pretty obvious ;P

The only other possible explanation is that Grizzoli was sitting on the right side of the room behind Trunkaby and that the wolf here is Delgato's partner. Which could be the case since Bogo only gives out ten assignments by name, counting Hopps, there were way more than ten other officers in the room when she arrived, and none left to witness her getting assigned to parking duty. But that theory is undermined by Bogo addressing Hopps and Wilde (her partner) together, so it's a safe assumption that Grizzoli is indeed the wolf.
There are a lot of characters that, while I acknowledge could never carry the full weight of a spinoff movie, I would love to see explored further in animated shorts; Grizzoli is one of them. Might be really fun to see how a wolf got a last name that implies 'bear'. Maybe he was adopted, has a grizzly stepfather to whom he felt close enough to take his name, or. . . Heck, if Disney is willing to confirm whether or not cross-species reproducing is possible, maybe even is the product of such a union. Whatever the case may be, I'd definitely like to see it.

Totally indeed. I'm almost 100% sure that Grizzoli is the white wolf, as long as Bogo calls three cops (Grizzoli, Fangmeyer and Delgato), and then stands up a tiger, a lion and a white wolf. As long as Fangmeyer is surely the tiger and Delgato de lion (confirmed by Rich Moore in a tweet), the most probable thing is that Grizzoli is, efectively, the white wolf. Some people says that Grizzoli is the polar bear (called Snarlof in the movie) as long as the game "Zootopia: crime files" label this bear as "Grizzoli". But sincerely, I preffer to take the movie like canon before than the game.
I'm pretty sure that the explanation of the surname is like you say: maybe Grizzoli has been adopted by grizzly bears, or his widow or divorced mother married a Grizzly, taking his surname for her and his little cub. Or yeah, if in this world the reproduction between different species is possible, maybe is the son of a grizzly bear and an artic wolf. Maybe in Zootopia can be possible the reproduction between different species having a kid of one of the parents' species (as long as NOONE in Zootopia is a hybrid, I personally have the oppinion that hybrids species are not possible in the world of this movie).
