This is only one reason why I wear stout boots with the pants cuffs tucked in.

Of course, living in several places in my life with scorpions, black widow spiders and other nasty little things that like to crawl up inside trouser legs have been further reasons....

It can be.

I run around out in the desert from time to time, hunting small critters for fun.
(I catch them, examine them for a while, and release. Sometimes keeping lizards or snakes for pets.)

I prefer not to bring home "bonus" finds....
