Something I drew for the Otherworld-ARPG group on DeviantArt, and that I liked enough to upload here, too! The character on the left belongs to teylaemmagan on DeviantArt, the other two are mine.
Story:
Jasmine had never actually seen a Vestibule before - her parents' friends, or at least the ones she had met so far, were all Minkin, and she had not really mingled with other parts of the herd yet. As a result, she wasn't really prepared for this one encounter that day. She was on her own, without Japur, Dia or even Jess, which her parents normally wouldn't have allowed, had it not been for Marten, who, being taller than the Minkin he had bonded with, provided excellent protection ad knew the way home should Jasmine get lost. Jasmine thought she was on her own - that is, until, in the distance, she saw a silhouette. This spooked her at first, but when she saw the vibrant colours of the other creature, she grew a bit more courageous. In these lands, bright-coloured animals usually were allies. She snuck up to the stranger, approaching them slowly, until the latter turned around with surprise on her face and a startled "Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't see you there!"
Jasmine herself was quite startled by this at first, too. "I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to creep up on you like this, I just... eh..." Japur had mentioned Vestibules as inhabitants of Xenith, and Jasmine also knew they could befriend and join herds together with Minkin, and that they had the power to travel beyond these lands... "... I, uh. I have never actually seen a Vestibule from up close before," she admitted, blushing wildly and feeling very embarassed. What an impression she must be making!
The Vestibule, who had looked surprised at first, was starting to smile widely. "It's okay, young one. No harm done! Are you lost? What is your name?" Before she could finish the last sentence, something moved behind Jasmine. Marten's large head appeared, and he settled behind Jasmine, watching the scene carefully. This made the Vestibule visibly uncomfortable. "Uh..." "It's okay!" Jasmine replied quickly. "This is Marten. He's with me to protect me, he doesn't eat Vestibules or anything. My name is Jasmine." The Vestibule relaxed a bit. "My name is Sunny."
Jasmine took the opportunity to gaze at Sunny's appearance with curious eyes. Sunny had horns, too, but a gem was floating between them. She was taller than the adult Minkin Jasmine knew, and her hooves, face and tail were all pretty different. She didn't sparkle, either. She was so different from all the Minkin Jasmine had seen! And yet, she looked very friendly, and Jasmine could see how she would perfectly blend in within a herd of Minkin.
"Maybe it is time for you to head home, Jasmine,' Sunny remarked. "I think I sense bad weather coming." Jasmine nodded, and turned around, but turned her head back. "Do you want to come along and meet my family? There's my parents, Dia and Japur, and my sister, Jess. I'm sure they'll be excited to meet you. Won't you come along?"
