this is the entire rock. if you look close along the bottom of the rock you can see some bits that appear to be snail shells. and not just impressions which are the easiest to see in this. These appear to be sand that intruded into the empty shells and was left after the shells finally were broken down. there were some more but they were not really attached to the rock and fell away when i got it and being very fragile they did not survive the drop to the driveway. there are a few of these tubes left though. this is one of the best fossils i ever found. unfortunately when i was younger and lived at home all of my best stuff like crinoid bodies and bigger shells and such were tossed away when my mom decided that rock collecting was dirty and only moronic children get dirty.... yeah i have issues sometimes.
i really would love to get that collection back. it had some truly awesome stuff.
