So I started playing Pokémon Insurgence and got this little abomination as my starter. It's so cute, too, look at this little disaster. Quickie color doodle @ work.

They have a feature in this game called Delta Pokémon where they have different typing and moves vs. the canon pokémon. This little Delta Bulbasaur is Fairy/Psychic. The other two Kanto starters are also available as Delta versions, or you can pick a regular Eevee instead. They're adorable artificially created abominations that can't survive in the wild, and they also can't breed.
There's an option in the beginning of the game to turn off fakemon, if you want. Here's the wiki page, if you don't mind spoilers: https://wiki.p-insurgence.com/Delta_Pok%C3%A9mon
The also brought back the pokémon following mechanic and it's so cute. * w *

Wait, can't breed? I started up the game and the guy who offers the Delta Pokemon was a member of PERFECTION. "Non-breeding" Pokemon doesn't sound like perfection to me, but then again I have no idea what their idea of perfection is yet--Maybe they're like Team Magma and believe that the perfect world would be for humans only.
I kinda get why they can't breed. Their numbers are limited, and that makes each Delta special. Yeah, players can always reset over and over to get good natures and stats, but by and large you get what you get. My derpy plantfairy isn't perfect, sure, but it's mine.
Hybridization also does weird things with genes. A lot of IRL hybrids are sterile or have fertility problems.
