My sister and I are gonna cosplay as Doraemon and Dorami for AX this year. It was one of the first animes we ever saw. I think they're adorable, and they since he's the older brother and she's the younger sister, it suits us perfect. :B
We're planning ahead this year. I think it'll be a lot better than when we were the Mario Brothers. D}:
And I'll be super busy with school the next two weeks, so sorry for the future lack of activity/responses.

Dude! You have a sister who will cosplay with you? That has got to be awesome!
I can't say I've ever heard of these characters before. In my next free moment, I'll have to look them up to get a better idea. Any sites, or YouTube vids, you could recommend?
All my best to you in this forthcoming weeks. Mid-terms are always a kick in the teeth. I'll be pulling for you! :)

Hehe, she doesn't like anime, mangas, video games, or furries, but she likes dressing up and going to conventions. :P
They deleted most of the episodes off youTube, but I found the introduction. It's kind of an old show, but a classic in Japan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltW5pSr6nVw
It's not even midterms yet. ;O; Just lots and lots of work, haha. But I'll keep trying! :D

Aww! That looks like it was such a cute show. Did it air on one of the cable stations while you were growing up, or did someone introduce it to you through VHS?
<LoL!> You reminded me of when I logged on to FA while at my sister's house over the holidays. None of my friends are "Furry Friendly" to my knowledge and my friend / sister's husband saw my profile was I leaning to the side. Aside from the typical response I was expecting, I got one that I wasn't. That being, sarcastically of course, that he thought my avatar was "sexy." Now, that's one way I never thought of ever describing my fursona. Nope, nope, nope!
Back to point, though, your sister sounds really cool in how she is open to just be fun like that. Honestly, if someone would go with me, I wouldn't hesitate myself to dress up in some fun costume and attend a con. Nothing like being in "character" for a fun event, eh? Heck, while at the Colorado Center for the Blind, I made a total ham-ham out of myself when we were asked to participate in the city's "Western Welcome Parade." Most people just tapped their canes in step. I, on the other hand, did fist pumps and twirled mine in the air like a baton. I riled the crowd, big time! Gabby-Gabby-Gaboo!
Whoopsie! Mid-terms always seem to have weird start times to my knowledge. Usually, to my recollection, they float between weeks 4 and 7. Though, I did have one lame professor who got the brilliant idea of giving us our mid-term three weeks before the final. That was oodles of fun. *Oozes sarcasm*

Hehe, my friend was a FOB (Fresh Off the Boat) and moved on our street from Japan at age 5. We were introduced to Shinchan, Doraemon, and Pokemon before they were ever translated and released in America. Good ole VHS! :3
I guess the teasing could always be worse, though, being one of the few that isn't trying to have a blatantly sexy avatar (at least not like the obvious ones with all the muscles, breasts, or curves) it's funny that he'd still poke at you with that. Though, it might have given him even more to say if you did! 8D Good thing he didn't see your avatar before the upcoming release of Yosh-E-O Version 2.0! :B
Just years before she was criticizing and complaining about me and the artists I liked that spent their time drawing yoshies and other cartoon animals, but I think she's also learned to coexist with the things she likes and dislikes. And she loves dressing up for Halloween and other occasions. And it's fun for us both since we put a lot of effort into them, and often get to play off each other's costumes when we do! (:
Hopefully some day you can join in on it too! As fun as conventions are, I couldn't recommend bringing someone with you enough.
Your timing is just right. (: We're on week five, a couple more to go until mid-terms. But I guess the professors are thinking they want all of these projects done and out of the way so we won't be piled up with work during midterms. ...But right after all that work we have to work on midterms anyways! 8D Aw well, hehe.

Curses! College is such a drag in its "Boot-&-Rally" concept. You may, or may not, agree with this, but I always find seeing the sylabus at the beginning to be like staring down a long corridor filled with booby traps. From here, the professor puts one of those "speed measuring" collars on you and tells you how fast you need to "Tread the Labyrinth." They cackle maniacally as you fumble about to survive each obstacle while taking the least amount of pain possible.
Again, I must say how wonderful it is that you and your sister have such rapport with one another. My sister and I "used" to have a relationship like this. However, after the big surgery that took her sight down to around what mine is now, she hasn't been quite the same. Though, despite this fact, I am still trying to find ways to remind her of all the fun things she enjoyed and should stille enjoy. For example, there was a show on HBO years ago called "The Legend of White Fang" that she enjoyed a lot. Well, I found two DVDs for it on Amazon that I am getitng her for her birthday. I hope that, in seeing it, it makes her smile and inspires her to maybe draw or do something fun again. I really miss my sister being fun. Though, perhaps, she is only hiding her fun side from me. Who knows. *shrug*
Lastly I must mention on how totally cool it must've been to have had someone introduce you to shows like that in advance. That's got to be one of the best perks to living over on the West Coast. Aside from a few things that "slip" over here on the East, we seldom are privledge to any interesting advances like that. :)

Haha, I have those for all my classes now! Though, with more teachers I think it's like high hopes that usually don't go as planned. In my lit class last semester we planned a lot more quizzes, tests, and papers... but we hardly did anything. 8D We didn't even get to use our second book at all! Though, my current teachers have already pushed back some dates (thank goodness), I think they'll be better at pressuring us like you described. D:
I'm glad for what I have with her! (: though, I'm sorry things became different for you and your sister... I guess she took things a bit hard after that event... maybe it's just like with relationships and the friend you mentioned! It takes time to recover from these things... and some people need a lot of time, if they're even able to recover at all. I think your idea is a good start in the right direction. Hopefully you can both have fun again some day!
And yes! :D I loved the difference in culture, and all the cool new things that we haven't seen or would ever get either. She even had cool Japanese magazines related to Mario and Yoshi, I was in love. 8D Though, if the UK ever becomes the new Japan, maybe you'll be more in luck? :3

<LoL!> Good point! All we need is another "Beatles Invasion" to get us East Coasters back on the fast track. Coo-Coo-Ca-Choo!
Silly question. As I'm certain you will be putting your talents at work to making these wonderful costumes, I am curious if there will be any piccies of them for us to see? Be neat to see the master-work before, or at, action. Honestly, you've got to be excited at having such a unique set of costumes to take to the convention. I doubt many people would be going in such a retro sort of way.
Lastly, as I'm a fun loving Yo'ster, too, I've got to know if you'll be toting around a badge to let everyone know who you are? After all, you are a highly recognized artist on both DA and FA and, as such, I'm certain you have quite a fan-base who could potentially be roaming the floor. If I were present, I'd hit you up for an autograph. Yep, yep! Sure would! :)

Anything's possible! Maybe even Iceland or something will rise up... or the eastern part of Canada! B-) We'll have to see.
Eep, you're definitely not the first to ask! I'll post the hats for sure. As for the whole cosplay, my sister loves modeling hats and outfits so I'll be posting hers for sure. I'm going to get pictures of myself too, but I'll be a lot more hesitant to post 'em. :B If it all turns out okay enough and I can be proud of the work, I'll try to force myself to upload them, or at least share them with the friends that ask. :x
When I went to Califur I had an artist make me a cute little $1 badge: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1327571/ But the few people I knew that showed up saw me before I had it made. :B I don't think I'd be recognized even if I did have a badge, but if I were to meet you at a con, you'd have to sign my sketchbook or something too! :3

That's a cute, lil badge. Quite honestly, I'd believe seeing all the talented artists, like yourself, at the cons would be the coolest part. My friend Wackko200 set up a little station at a con in Virginia and did pretty well for herself. She sold stickers and T-Shirts of the character drawings she did. As a souveneir, I got one of her Hamtaro shirts. :) Have you ever thought of conducting a little business while attending a con?
I don't blame you for being a tad shy about sharing pics. Honestly, I'd be exactly the same way. Especially if they showed a lot of my face. I'm definately miles away from looking like any George Clooney or Brad Pitt. Furthermore, I couldn't smile to save my life. So, in any picture I take, I always look sarcastic and goofy. Add to that my mis-colored eye and you got a visage best suited for radio or horror movies. :)
Me, sign for you? Kazootles! I am far from having the level of notariety that you have. However, should I ever get published, I do promise you a free, signed copy of whatever makes it down the pike first. :) Have to reward those who made it all possible. Yep, yep, yep!

I don't know off-hand. However, my artist friend who attended it may have it posted on her DA page when it comes around again. Why not give it a visit?

She's really into the cons and events and tends to keep up on them. Even the ones she can't attend. Her artwork is also really good, too! :)

Yeah! :3 Conventions are way funner when you have friends - though you can probably makes friends easy when you dress up since people know your interests and all. (:
And with all the awesome merchandise they sell, I could just drool over each stand for hours on end even if I was alone...
But we had pals last time and I'll have company this time too! :D Makes it all the more special!

Oh geeze. X3 My sister would love posing for pictures anywhere when we finish these, but I'll be hesitant. 8D
It's okay, he's one of the most well-known characters in Japan, so it's no wonder you can hear about him even without watching his show. :3 I don't know too much about him either, but I'm ready to learn more!
Thanks. (:
