Here's what I've done so far with the Iskierka image. I'm using a new technique in drawing a scale texture and I've just finished the basic lighting layers. Next I'll add colours, shading, final lighting highlights and last minute tweaks and touch ups.

I'm putting this image in my main gallery because even at this stage I think it looks pretty good.
