Silent as a ghost, Shelly crept along the darkened corridor, her ears twitching as she listened for anything that was even remotely out of place. her sniper rife was useless in these tight hallways, left behind in her sniper's nest on the third floor from the roof as she quietly padded from room to room, re-confirming to herself that each one was indeed clear. her target was supposed to be in range today, in less than two hours to be exact. and thats when it happened, a simple trap she had set to alert her if someone or something entered the building, it tripped. and now with her trusty .40 cal and her sharply tuned instincts as both a sniper AND a werewolf, she knew she had to quickly and quietly clear the old office space of any threat by herself. it was that, or risk screwing up three days of waiting and an entire month of planning and intel just for one shot at killing one of her country's greatest enemies...
right there, she heard something for sure. pressing against the wall right at the next corner she waited, silently listening, picking up the faintest sound of breathing from the office there, and the sharp metallic click of a bolt being drawn back on what sounded like a hunting rifle. she could smell him too, not an enemy perhaps... he smelled like a human to her, his scent trail wafting out the room smelled like a very live, very nervous young man. not the cold, bloody stench of the vampires who were her nation's enemies.
she allowed herself an annoyed sigh, eyes furrowing in territorial annoyance as she rounded the corner silently, the young man's back was to her. he was in a tattered army-surplus uniform top and dirty dark blue jeans, his rifle was an old .30-06 hunting rifle with a clearly inadequate scope for the range her target would be at, and she could practically hear the young man's heart pounding out of his chest from nervousness. an amateur making an attempt on HER target from HER snipers nest... certainly brave, but damn this was annoying.
she lunged, her padded hand silencing the human's scream as she took his weapon with ease, pinning him to the floor. he struggled, but he obviously had no hand-to-hand combat training, and she soon had him bound and restrained in the corner. "Dont say a damn thing, human." she spat, unloading the rifle, "Cause I dont care, you're gonna stay here until i'm done with my mission, then i'll let you go."
"b-but, i deserve to kill that bastard General! he killed my-!"
"I said shut it!" Shelly said with a glare, silencing the angry, freaked out human. "What the fuck do you think i'm here for, this far behind enemy lines. I'm gonna kill him, and i'm gonna do it right. all you're going to do with this shit is miss, and the noise'll send a whole platoon here which'll fuck up my escape."
"just listen, John..." she sighed, reading the man's drivers license out of his wallet, "dirty jobs like this are best left to the professionals."
"...f-fine then..." John whimpered, "just promise me you wont miss."
Shelly smiled, a dark, sharp-toothed grin as she turned and walked back towards her sniper's nest, "I never miss, human. not when it matters this much..."
