Finally! It's here! The first 3D Blu-Ray I've bought since Wreck-It-Ralph, and boy howdy, it's great. Obviously, the film itself is fantastic, and the 3D lends itself wonderfully to the fantastical enviroments and characters created by Disney's animation department. I had the awesome chance to see this in IMAX 3D, several times, and it was absolutely awe inspring.
But enough about that, what about the actual 3D Blu-Ray itself? Zootopia Ultimate Collector's Edition (Which is, incidentally, the only way to get the 3D Blu-Ray disk) was around $30. Was it worth it? Yes. Yes it was. When you get this version, it comes with the 3D Blu-Ray disk, the 2D Blu-Ray disk, the standard DVD disk, and an HD digital copy. Why these companies feel the need to package the cases with the standard DVD copy is beyond me. My best guess is so they can charge more for them. My suggestion is to give it to a friend who doesn't have the movie.
The 3D Blu-Ray disk is just the movie with scene selections and set-up. The 3D in this movie is great! And as I said before, it lends itself well to this type of movie. Personally, I would have liked for the 3D to be a little bit deeper, but the 3D does what it needs to do, and as Disney movies go, it stands above the rest.
The 2D Blu-Ray copy has the movie, and special features, including deleted scenes, making of videos, and even a deleted characters video. The worst gripe I have with this is that there is no filmmaker's commentary, which would have been nice to hear for a movie like this. It's not too big of a deal, but for movie fanatics like me, especially ones who pay $30 for a 3D Blu-Ray copy, it really sucks not to have it.
And I think that's about it. Great buy. If you have a 3D TV, or 3D gaming monitor as I do, I recommend getting the 3D verison, because it really is stunning. Even if you don't have a 3D TV or monitor, get it anyway, as Zootopia itself is a fantastic movie, and is definitely worthy of the $1 billion it's just made at the box office.

Yeah, when it comes to movies, I go big or go home. Never compromise. I'm going to see Warcraft in IMAX 3D tonight. I'm hype! I remember hearing about rumors of this movie when I was younger and I first played WoW. It's so cool to see it finally coming together after all these years.
