yeah yeah, he broke em all. Nice ragged tail he has, and yet he still flies amazingly. We really dont have enough other feathers to imp him a new tail till he moults.

IM not sure about al of them, but the usual way is when they mantle on the ground. They press those feathers down so hard on the ground that they risk breaking them, and sometimes do.
