For what it's worth; It took about 10 minutes of pissing him off to get him to do that!
He was almost as much of a sooky dragon as me! I kept stroking his mouth until he gave me that "Get outta my face!" look.
(He didn't actually bite, or even hiss! Just a really pathetic warning.)
Cheers,
Ant

Sorry to hear about it, though it doesn't sound like you had much fun with him.
Yes, Iguanas are well known for their... Erm... Nasty disposition. And they are infamous for their ginsu-like teeth and claws. Freaky since they are vegetarian, since the omnivorous lizards of similar characteristics have nowhere near as sharp teeth & talons!
I used to wish I could get an Iguana (you can only have native reptiles in Australia; thankfully, we've got so many of them!) because they are vegetarian, but I've heard too many horror stories that I'm glad I had my nice timid little WD! Iguanas are too prone to trying to establish dominance!
Some people have experimented with keeping Water Dragons and Iguanas in the same vivarium - and because their habitats are similar temps and humidities, it is all fine until the Igs grow up! Since they can get to 6', they outgrow their vivarium-mates and then sit on the smaller Dragons (called "Stacking") to show they are boss. Obviously this is not to the best health of the Dragon!
I was amazed a few years ago when someone in the UK 'rescued' a female Iguana that wasn't being cared for very well. It was so placid that it didn't struggle when she put it in the bathtub and even held its paws still for her when she clipped its claws.
No bites, no hiss, no clawing. Sounds like she found a grateful Ig!
